A Rich History of Growth
Founded in 1988, Pinnacle Feeds Ltd. began its journey under the umbrella of Roberts Manufacturing Company Limited (RMCO), which already had a strong brand equity in Barbados. In 1993, the company expanded its operations further by commissioning a soybean extraction plant, significantly increasing its production capacity and ability to serve the growing demand for high-quality animal feeds.
Pinnacle Feeds’ commitment to innovation and progress is reflected not only in its strategic expansions but also in its rigorous adherence to quality standards. RMCO was among the first to attain International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification. The company achieved the ISO 9002:1994 Quality Systems certification in 1998 within a record time of just nine months. This was followed by an upgrade to ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management Systems certification in 2002, further demonstrating the company’s commitment to maintaining superior quality standards.
Setting the Standard in Food Safety
In addition to its ISO certifications, Pinnacle Feeds and RMCO have prioritised food safety, aligning their operations with global best practices. In 2003, the company obtained Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) certification, kickstarting a robust food safety management systems journey that continues to this day.
In 2019, Pinnacle Feeds achieved another milestone
with the successful acquisition of Safe Quality Food
(SQF) Code certification, a globally recognised food
safety standard accredited by the Global Food Safety
Initiative (GFSI). This certification demonstrates
Pinnacle Feeds’ ongoing compliance with the highest
international standards for the manufacture of safe
food and feed products. Since then, the company has undergone rigorous recertification audits against successive editions of the SQF standard, maintaining key certifications.
